This textile is hand spun and used by Mossi people in Burkina Faso, West Africa, woven in narrow strips roughly 6" wide of undyed cotton fabric. After each strip is produced, they are woven together forming a larger cloth. The complete textile is then dyed using natural indigo dyes. These textiles are referred to as "wrappers" since women wrap them around their waist as skirts.
This textile measures 63 x 38" (160 x 96.5 cm)
